Blog Experience

I don’t mind blogs because it’s a chance to make a deadline each week. Yes there are tests and studying to keep up with during the year but this is my second blog experience, so it was different for a semester. With the blogging each week was crucial to follow the deadline dates. It was a good learning experience to post blogs each week.

I can never see myself blogging on a day to day basis. It is also growing day to day with the social media part of it but I personally would not consider blogging anytime. I learned how to post blogs and to understand some of the tools this program has to offer. It was good to discover the blogging side of things since it was my second time.

Movie Review: Nightmare on Elm Street

A Nightmare on Elm Street is directed by Samuel Bayer and is written by Wesley Strick and Eric Heisserer. The characters were created by Wes Craven. The movie stars are Rooney Mara and Kyle Gallner. It dates back to 1984 when the original “Nightmare” came out. It still has the Freddy Krueger with the four blades on his hand and scarred face who is played by Jackie Earle Haley. Wesley and Strick were trying to capture some of the original scares in this new one. It all starts with Freddy showing up in students dreams.

They each are wondering why he shows up in their dreams, creeping them out where they don’t want to fall asleep. With previous dreams that occurred in earlier stages of the students lives the dreams soon become more intense and Freddy gets closer and closer. A lot of the movie in some of the scenes are computer generated and is not that scary, even for the younger crowd. The originals were better than the new. Overall I give it a 6 out of 10 just because of some of the scenes that were supposed to be scary are just funny. The quotes of Freddy are still good.

Medical Product Manufacturing News is the number one resource for medical device product and sourcing information. They are dedicated to informing their customers with the best leading technology information resource. The MPMN also ranks highest out of all its competitors. This media kit provides specific information about MPMN.

The MPMN media kit gives the viewer statistics and other resources in it. It has contact information for further questions. It is easy to guide through and understand the material in it and what MPMN does. Overall it contains a lot of information that is useful to the target customers. The media kit also has  statistics for the audience, which I think is good to include.

NASA – Press Release

NASA hosted a news conference Sept.27, to inform the public about Curiosity rover’s mission to Mars’ Gale Crater. The news conference was held in Pasadena, Calif. Media journalists and reporters were there to cover the news. The media personnel had to make prior arrangements before attending the conference. For NASA to share information about their mission’s to the public is great.

The press release that I viewed had good information about the topic. They did a good job incorporating the 5w’s in it. The structure of the release covers in detail what exactly is going to be in the news conference. Phone numbers and email addresses are important for contact information, which was done well also.Overall it was a well written press release.

OSU win over Louisiana 65-24

The Cowboys bounced back from last week’s loss putting up some points against  Louisiana on Saturday at Boone Pickens Stadium. OSU starting quarterback left the game early due to a knee injury. This would bring in the backup quarterback J.W. Walsh. He took the Cowboys up and down the field, helping the offense to a school-record 742 yards. As always the game was fun to watch with the high powered offense we have here at OSU. You cannot take the college gameday spirit out of Stillwater.

Everyone’s concern during and after the game was not the win but about quarterback Wes Lunt. He has high hopes for the future. The injury was to the knee and he could possibly be out for 2-4 weeks. It is disapointing for the young quarterback and we hope he bounces back soon. It was another great day in Stillwater for college football.

The topic above was a blog wrote by OSU reporter Gina Mizell. I read her blog and thought she did a good job explaining the game in detail. By her putting in yard statistics I think is something every Cowboy fan likes to know. She also did a good job by interviewing the coaching staff getting insight from a great source. Overall it was a well written blog about the Cowboys win. GO POKES!
